This badge is full size (see photo) and produced by the Williams & Anderson company in Providence, RI. It displays the WA hallmark on the reverse. They were briefly awarded a contract by the CHP to produce 600 badges in 1989. Those received were rejected by the CHP but have ended up on the collector's market and are used as officer second badges. Sun Badge was contracted to fill the order and has produced most original badges since. The badge is well-made with blue hard enamel lettering - not the soft enamel you find on most reproduction badges. This badge IS NOT gold-filled and the rank panel IS NOT riveted as a department issue would. Still one of the best reproductions available and a good conversation piece. These badges have been used as officer seconds as the department only issues one breast badge.
